Weekly Events & Internals

The easiest way to get involved is to come along to our weekly Monday night internals, hosted at 6pm during the university semester in the Roundhouse. You can find exact details on our Facebook page as well as updates for social events like our dinners in Kingsford, mini tournaments or trials for competitions.

Internals are weekly sessions from 6pm that usually begin with a short seminar on a debating skill or topic area, before diving into organised debates where we can place you with our more experienced members. Before internals, we hit up the Roundhouse on campus for free drinks, food and banter at around 4pm and we often find members going on a Maccas run after internals! You can register for internals at their respective Facebook events on our page, or find more about debating at our resources page.

Socials

Starting in O-Week and going straight through to the end of the year, we're putting on socials just for you! We host dinners in Kingsford on tournament nights with food and bar tab which are open to all. Keep an eye out for our biggest events at our Events page and our Facebook. We will have a first years social, as well as, a Women and Gender Minorities (WGM) Social at the end of the year!

Competitions & Trials

Ranging from the fun and bizarre UNSW IV to the Australasian Intervasity Debating Championships right through to Worlds, there are plenty of opportunities to get involved in debating at any level! Tournaments offer fantastic opportunities to debate not only in Sydney and interstate - but even internationally! Find out more here; and keep an eye out for trials for our tournaments on Facebook.
We'll be hosting our Easters early 2024!
